Proposal pieces from some of the many Marriage Proposal puzzles I have made!

Marriage Proposal Puzzles

I have made quite a few Marriage Proposal Jigsaw Puzzles and you can be assured that I will give your puzzle great personal attention to make your proposal a day you'll remember fondly, and that your puzzle will be a possession you and yours will want to keep for generations.

For Marriage Proposal Puzzles, I can use your digital camera image file or scan your photo print and add Proposal Text as desired. When making your puzzle, I take care to cut your puzzle elegantly, and to include the Proposal Text in a "Proposal Piece" located in a nice area of the picture. Some customers choose to create their own digital files and design their own text, but usually I do it. I am an experienced Marriage Proposal puzzle maker, and if I see anything in your picture or design that I feel needs to be changed, I'll be sure to contact you with a suggestion before starting your puzzle.

How do Marriage Proposal Puzzles work? Normally, the puzzle is given as a present, and the Proposal Piece (or pieces in rare cases) is kept by you. Eventually your friend will become aware that a piece is missing and when the rest of the puzzle is completed a search begins. There are various ways in which the piece can be "found". Sometimes it is presented with an engagement ring on bended knee! Other times it may be snuck back into the puzzle box, perhaps upside down, so it can be found a little later. Or it may be "casually" found by you (actually pulled from you pocket) and given to your friend without necessarily saying anything. Now and then a customer will develop an elaborate strategy, developing clues, which when followed will result in a long hunt, perhaps with clues in which all of the pieces are gradually found, perhaps in different friends' houses in on the secret, with the last piece being the proposal piece! Some customers like to have the Proposal Text placed within a heart shaped piece - a potential problem with this is that heart shaped piece, due to its shape, may be discovered as "missing" earlier on in the puzzle assembly process than normal. One customer had a Marriage Proposal puzzle made with no text at all! Instead the puzzle was a picture of himself sitting on a wall with a box in his hand. After his girlfriend assembled the puzzle, she asked what was in the box. He then got the real box and gave it to her and of course there was a ring inside!

How many pieces are good for a proposal puzzle? The average count is around 80-100 pieces as I've made a few proposal puzzles with over 200 pieces, but puzzles with 40-80 pieces have been popular, as normally you want your girlfriend (yes, the guy is the one who usually does the proposing - but there have been a few cases otherwise!) to complete the puzzle up to the big moment reasonably fast, for example, within 15 minutes! Note: my minimum is now 200 pieces, I'm in semi-retirement!

From this chart you can see that I've made seven Marriage Proposal puzzles with 40-49 pieces, and nine with 80-89 pieces
As of early 2006, I had made a total of 75 Marriage Proposal puzzles, not all reflected in the chart
As of January 2008, I made my 100th Marriage Proposal puzzle!

Typical sizes for a Marriage Proposal puzzle are 9" x 6", 10" x 8", etc. with Large pieces resulting in around 80 pieces or Double Large pieces resulting in around 40 pieces.

If you have decided you want me to make a Marriage Proposal puzzle for you, go to Custom Puzzles to select the specifics about your puzzle, to see how much your puzzle will cost and to place your order. There will be an area for entering the printed Proposal Text you want in your puzzle (usually "Name, Will you marry me?"), and an area for adding comments. I normally will respond to your order the same day or the next day at the very latest, also confirming the details regarding the picture to be used and payment method (Credit Card, PayPal, Check, Money Order).
