April 27, 2003

1:07 am - Assembled Unicorn With Gems in just over an hour, a somewhat slower pace on a per piece basis than other small unicorn puzzles like Moonlight Reverie. The Unicorn's mane was about the only area that had real puzzling moments, which made me want to put together a really hard puzzle like Squares and Triangles, or for that matter any puzzle with larger areas of uniform color or texture.

April 25, 2003

4:32 pm - Auction launched, Unicorn With Gems, final piece count 252. I haven't assembled the puzzle, but will later today or tomorrow and will mention how hard (or easy) the puzzle is.

11:37 pm - The price for Unicorn With Gems, in the K. Chin section, was listed at $170 for an estimated 210 piece puzzle. I've upped the estimated piece count to 250 to reflect the higher density that I cut in today's puzzle, and I upped the Gallery price to $187, reflecting a 75 cents a piece rate for some of the other Unicorn puzzles in the Gallery, still a pretty low price [compared to other puzzle makers].

7:18 pm - Cut #427, a K-Chin print, Unicorn With Gems, about 250 pieces, Long Round. I ended up designing a high frequency low amplitude wavy border for the puzzle. The puzzle has one small figural, a three-sided "bubble-gon". The edges are mostly interlocking although there are some indirect ones. There is no clc. The puzzle is very pickupable. Will have final piece count tomorrow.
